The Great Aussie Pastie Comp has been run and won at the FSA Expo on Wednesday 23rd June 2010, for the first time this has been conducted as a full National Comp supported fully by the National Body BAA and its state associations. Competition was strong with just on 50 bakeries from around the country and over 100 pieces of product to be judged by 3 indipendant and proffesional judges. Stewart Latter President of the National Body stated that it was very impressive and showed what a national body could do once working together with all state associations and of course our sponsors. Mr Latter thanked the judges Mr Ron Taylor, Mr Martin MacLennan and Mr Colin Esplin for their professionalism and assistance during the comp. There were 3 categories for the Great Aussie Pastie Comp 1st Orange Spot Bakery Glenelg S.A 2nd Orange Spot Bakery Glenelg S.A 3rd Miami Bakerhouse Mandurah W.A 1st Angkor Bakery and Cafe Angkor S.A 2nd Orange Spot Bakery Glenelg S.A 3rd Micks Bakehouse Wagga Wagga NSW 1st Angkor Bakery and Cafe Angkor S.A 2nd Orange Spot Bakery Glenelg S.A 3rd Rolling Pin Pies and Cakes VIC Many thanks to everyone who participated, see you next year at FSA Expo in Melbourne Vic.

Newcastle Baking Show October 20, 2010 This baking show will be held in conjunction with the Food Service Trade Show at the Newcastle Jockey Club Broadmeadow. As our the previous show in Canberra was welcomed as a success it is a great way for bakery owners to see what new products are on offer in the food industry.
